caught the ship in subic near the end of westpac cruise in 68. Enlistment ended January 69. I can't recall too many names. Henson Em2 Ellis Dc2 Ellis and I installed a patch inside the stack to keep us from missing sea maneuvers. We had come in on Friday afternoon leaking stack gas into the midships passageway. We got underway on Monday. Good job Ellis.

Covid has robbed us of another reunion. After initially announcing the 2021 National Reunion in Baltimore, our host the Tin Can Sailor's Association has unexpectdly cancelled again. We are trying to put together an expanded mini-reunion for this fall on the West coast, but I have no details at this time. We are still scheduled for San Atonio in 2022 with the TCSA. Membership in the Parks Association is now free, so contact me if you are interested.

Hello,

I'm looking for more information about my grandfather, Roland N. Pleau (service # 667 88 21), who appears to have been on the USS Floyd B. Park around March 1946. I found a Muster Roll on Ancestry.com that mentions he was on this boat at this time and the boat appears to be in Shanghai, China. If you have any information about my grandfather, or information about the USS Floyd B. Parks in 1945 and 1946 I would love to know more. Thank you - I greatly appreciate everyone who served!

Sincerely,

Ryan Wade (his grandson)

Just a short message to report there is nothing to report. I hope our Association members and families are keeping safe and healthy. As soon after the Holidays as we have any information about future events, we will publish a Newsletter.

Until then, wishing you fair winds and following seas.

I am looking for entries of river access trips in 1972. We would visit a village to get mail but I never knew the name of this village or what river it was in.

I want to extend a Veterans' Day wish to all my shipmates and their families past and present and to offer them a, "Welcome Home"..

After the ass'n decision in New Orleans to merge our reunions with Tin Can Sailors, I decided to join Tin Can Sailors and attend their quarterly coffee mtg at headquarters this week which wasn't too far from my home. Amazingly enough I ran into Ray Heins who said he was on the Parks 66-67 and remembered Ens Ray Smith and others... Mr Heins had no knowledge of the Parks' Assn but I told him I'd mention him here and directed him to the Parks' website.

I guess you're never too far from a shipmate.

Cheers Guys..!

The Parks Association will be posting information on the Tin Can Sailors reunion in San Antonio in September 2020 on this website and in the Newsletter. You no longer need to send in dues to remain on the membership roles.

Greetings to all former PARKS crew. At the 27th Reunion in New Orleans, the Men's Association made the difficult decision to end stand-alone reunions. Starting in 2020, we will be attending (as a group) Tin Can Sailors Association reunions.
