As a newly-raised Brother (January 2019) and working toward completion of the requirements of the Master Builders Program, I have endeavored to visit other lodges to observe and experience their rituals as well as meet new Bretheren.

My first exposure to Prince Hall Masonry was while I was on active duty in the U.S. Army in Germany (1970-1975). Fast-forward to 2019 and conversations with my friend and first-line signer of my petition, a Brother of long-standing Masonic membership, a retired Methodist pastor, and a Past Master from Iowa. During discussions about the degrees and ritual, requirements for passing each degree, and differences between what goes on in Blue Lodges in Pennsylvania versus Iowa and other jurisdictions, he made several positive and respectful comments about the higher expectations presented to candidates for Prince Halll degrees and membership.

As a result, I hope to be able to visit a Prince Hall Lodge in the vicinity of my home in Hershey and hope to be able to pass examination in o
