My mother in law passed away on July 3, 2014 she was born in 1927 and was 87 when she passed. She had two great loves of her life. Tyrone Power and her husband Bob of 40 years. When he died in 1958, she went to the cemetery in Hollywood and watched the interment. When I wrote her obituary I gave Mr. Power honorable mention. He was as much a part of her life as anyone she actually knew. I hope when she got to the pearly gates, he was there to greet her.

I am 74 and have rediscovered Tyrone Power who was at his Zenith when I was born in 1939. I appreciate his enormous talent more than ever. He was beautiful in every way. I'm planning to watch all of his films. I have fallen in love with him all over again. So sad that he died so young. Even though his son never knew him, he has his body of work and the knowledge that he is his father's "dream come true." He loved his girls and would have been a wonderful Dad.I wish so much that he would be awarded a posthumous Oscar. |

Now that I'm in my sixties and love old movies. I have fallen in love with Tyrone Power's films.He was indeed very handsome. Most of his friends thought of him beautiful inside and out. I've read two books written about him. I hope and pray he receives his face on the postage stamp in 2014. On his birthday. All of his ex's are gone, but his true fans will always be around. For he will always be alive on film. I'm sorry he didn't get to know his children. I know they wish the same. |
