I absolutely love your site, and all the memories that these radio shows have brought back to me!! I remember playing Casey Kasems Top 40 Countdown on vinyl album at KJ104 in Bemidji, MN back in the 80's. Thank you for compiling these lists. I Have fond memories of american top 40 radio with Casey Kasem as a teen in the 80s. These lists of yours help bring back memories. Recently, I discovered the American Top 40 radio channel on "I Heart Radio", and the good times are now rolling each day in my house. Your lists help make the old shows even better. I can cheat and see what's coming next! Thanks again.

Walt,

So nice to hear of you!

How interesting and novel to sell, trade air checks of a classic era of popular music.

I am a Music Writer-Music Historian. I do collect music primarily from 1960's, Motown, The Beatles, British Invasion (especially of late-the past year 2014 was the 50th year of the British Invasion). Can you believe that? :)

The Beatles air checks you offer sound so interesting. Have you heard about the latest documentary about the early Beatles directed by Ron Howard?

This one sounds interesting! I am looking forward to it.

The best to you and your wonderful site and information.

You may keep me in the loop! :)

Amazing Collections you have here, Walt.

I remember years ago hearing Casey Kasem discuss how Prince played keyboard/synths on the single "Stand Back" by Stevie Nicks back in 1983. The story stood out because it mentioned how Prince was trying to court Stevie but was "turned off" when he saw her tipsy at a concert he invited her to. Which I believe was an intimate show at his house. For THAT reason, he went to studio, laid the synths on "Stand Back" in one take at the recording studio in L.A.

Is it possible to locate this recording or which show it is on?

I love comedy stuff from radio days...The Goon show ( British) WC Fields...this bit is an example...did you ever drink water Mr Fields?.....
eh gads..never....I once almost drank water..yeah it was in Dawson City...back in the roaring forties...bartender, I said, give me a gin no ice...but an icicle broke off the ceiling and fell in my glass...never mind my little chickadee I said..I'll drink it fast...well a Chinook blew in mid gulp, melted that icicle and lo and behold my gin was befouled with that awful liquid...makes me shiver to think of it...eauwwww...well lucky for my quick reflexes I started to gag and I spit it out before it past my tonsils...yes that was a close call my friend.... nearly killed me...no I recommend always drink responsibly...never dilute your spirits!!!!!! :-} gee Mr Fields is that your nose or are you eating a tomato?

I enjoy listening to AT 40 on WOGL-FM 98.1 Philadelphia on Saturday mornings accompanied by your list of Casey Kasem's shows from 1970-88. I listened to his show live when I was a teen. Couldn't wait for it on Sunday mornings on WZZD 990 AM. Now with your charts and YouTube, I can go back and find the more obscure songs that I liked and no station plays now, outside of a little low-power FM station out of Vineland, NJ, WVLT 92.1. Thanks, MK
