I must compliment you on a lovely website.I have just looked at Corpus Christi procession video and it brought tears to my eyes. I left Kilmovee many years ago but remember strewing flowers in my First Communion dress in the mid 50's. I thought of my parents Michael(Sonny) and Mary Ellen Griffin and how they dutifully got us all dressed up for the procession. Thanks for a lovely memory. I felt young again! Mary

I'm online from Chatham, New Jersey, USA and looking because this is the parish (Glann) were my grandfather (John Horan) was baptised. From what I've seen, it appears you have a great parish. I'll have to drop in if I ever find myself traveling Ireland.....Kevin Horan

I was born in Egool Kilmovee in 1933, whilst sat here in Stockport England with my daughter and son we were looking up Kilmovee, I want to say how impressed I am at this web site, to think I can look at my birthplace newsletter and news from Kilmovee is just wonderful, my sister Mary always sends the newsletter and of course any news but to see these wonderful pictures is just priceless. Thank you. Philomena x

Hello My Grandfather was JAMES HIGGINS who emigrated from County Mayo to Prescot Lancashire England prior to 1901. He married MARY ELLEN COMER (nee DONNELLY) in 1902 at Prescot Lancashire England and later moved to Liverpool England. Their children were JAMES born 1902 died 1904, JOHN born 1903, FRANCES born 1905, PATRICK born 1908 (my Dad), JEFFREY born 1910, MARY born 1913, JAMES J born 1913 died 1913 & MICHAEL born 1916. JAMES HIGGINS's father was also JAMES HIGGINS who was a Farmer in County Mayo. I am interested in the JAMES & BRIDGET HIGGINS who are living at UGGOOL KILMOVEE COUNTY MAYO in 1901. In 1911 BRIDGET is a Widow and has a Grandson JOHN HIGGINS aged 7 born in England living with her. My Uncle JOHN HIGGINS who was born in 1903 in Prescot England was missing from the family on the 1911 UK Census and I am wondering if this is him. Are there any descendants of JAMES & BRIDGET HIGGINS still in Kilmovee area? Thank you Pat Berry (nee Higgins) in Australia
