Don't know if we are related or not, but I was wondering if you know of any ship builders in the family. Also looking for any info. on a Samuel Shop McKee, one of two brother I believe one went to Ohio, one when to Kentucky. I'm from the Kentucky Line. The ship builders where out of Virgina I think.

Hello, I am from the line of William LaFollette and Jane McKee (I believe she was the daughter of Robert McKee). William LaFollette and Jane McKee settled in Hampshire Co., West Virginia. I had the opportunity to visit the old homestead this spring and visit their unmarked graves. I was just trying to find out if there was any information for Jane McKee. I have her birth but not sure of her death date. Thank you for the info you do have on this site!

Thank you for all of your McKee postings. I especially am pleased to see the lineage for John McKee and Rebecca Wickersham of Frederick County, VA who later migrated to Highland County, Ohio. I have been trying to prove for a long time that Mary McKee who married Harmon Limes in 1813 in Frederick County, VA was their daughter.

Hello Searchers. In the Llanwyddelan area according to the 1851 census, Gittins was almost as common a name as Jones. Here's just a few: Treganol (township) - Adfa House - William 36, Mary (w), Ann (d), William (s). Tyn y Celin - William 72, Mary (w), John (s). Pencoed township - 7 Pant - Thomas 58, Gwen (w), John (s), Richard (s), David (s). 10 Pen y Parc - John 57, Jane (w), Dan 18 (nephew). Llwyncoppa (my Gittins) - Jane 55 (head), Sarah 31 (d), Christopher 24 (s), Roger 21 (s), David 18 (s) Howell 16 (s). Neuadd Goch - Christopher 67 (head). 22 Tyn y Pant - John 38, Gwen 43, John 16 (s). 5 Felinfach - Thomas 45, Mary (w). 9 Hen Factory - Mary. 4 Church House - Elinor 32 (servant). 5 Church House - Rogers 55, Susannah 62 (w), John 15 (grandson). 10 Pengelly - William 38 (head), David 35 (brother), Sarah (sister), Richard 71 (father), Mary (Mother). They all appear to originate in the local area. There is an interesting website with a Gittins coat of arms (http://www.4familytrees.com/gittins/familystory.htm) which tells of a William Gittins of Carno emigrating to the US. Carno is just down the road (so to speak) from Llanwyddelan and Adfa and possibly some of those listed here are inter-related. Heddwch. Mike.
