I lived in Walton Avenue with brothers Joe,Terry and Bob,we all attended Eastcote Lane school.I went on to Wembley County and skype a fellow pupil, originally from Wembley, now living in Washington State USA.Although I miss so much about the old days I have to admit that we are so lucky to have the technology of today. No more having to book to make a phone call or send an airogram that took forever to get there.Bob and I now live in Australia and are in touch with friends from our childhood.I worked in Harrow for a short while,Property management company in St Annes road, after a short spell, working in London I got a job in Rayners Lane,Bierrum and Partners civil engineers.I moved to Australia in 1967,Bob came earlier.I,ve been back to England a few times.Dissapointed to see front gardens gone and concrete for off street parking.Have happy memories of playing on the green and loving it,stinging nettles and all.Bob and I are in touch with a few old friends who also live in Oz,Mick Ellett,Malcolm Pask and Colin B

Note my chosen Email address though no longer in South Harrow! Went to Welldon Park Primary School 1944 to 1950 so know all about the many interesting references on this website (and all about Mr Goodhead's cane). So I'd have made the journey twice a day from Roxeth Green Avenue there and back during the threat of V1s and V2s: certainly a V1 landed near Merton Gardens anyway (26 June 1944). But I just cannot remember where at WPPS the school air raid shelters were, as I must have been in them. Perhaps someone out there can say. By the way, before Roxeth Library was built I would cycle to I think Perivale Library via Northolt Park, the first loan being The Swiss Family Robinson.

Lived in Whitby Road 1945-1969 Primary school at Weldon Park 1949-1956 great school with good teachers - 42 children in the class, then on to Pinner County.

Great times and lots of places to explore in rural South Harrow.

Still in touch with my mate Colin Charles' and Elaine Tadd who both live closeby

Colin has some Weldon Park School photos at about age 7 and can name nearly everyone there.

Also a photo of the two of us at the top of Parkfield Road, where Colin lived, on Halls Milk Float with Horace the milkman and Snowball the horse!

Happy memories
