Hello, I am searing from Robert "Bob" Keister who was stationed at Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, England in 1956/57. I understand he is possibly from Maryland. He apparently played in a band whilst in service. If anyone knows of him, please could they let me know. Many thanks, Kim Message Number: 9 - Saturday, August 22, 2009 10:24:45 PDT - United Kingdom ![]()

I am trying to trace my American grandfather, Sam Houssey (or Houssy) who would have been stationed in the Essex area between 1942 - 1945. He was not actually based on a base but on a camp and would have known a family called the Mowles whose property his regiment were staying on. My great uncle Luther Luke Mitchell, 1906 to 1944, served in WWII but I'm not sure where or if he was killed in the war. As you can see, he was only 37 when he died. I haven't been able to find out where he served or how he died. That is why I was looking on your website, hoping to find something, anything about Uncle Luke. I met my future wife Marjorie Donald at the Eastcote Arms just up the road from the SouthRuislip Airforce station in 1953. I was an airman stationed there from 1953 through 1956. I spent many pleasant hours at the Eastcote Arms and returned with Marjorie in 1985 to look into the old place. I swear the same old woman was at the piano with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth who played when I was first there. My mother, Barbara Robinson Roose, traveled fron South Hampton to New York in April - May 1946 on the Jarrett M. Huddleston after marrying my father, Glen E. Roose, in Barry, South Wales. He was in the Army and from Montana. I am looking for information about the ship to share with my mother (my father is deceased). Any information would be great.
