I visited St. George UGCC Saturday Jan 28, 2012 for the Great Vespers service, and really enjoyed the worship experience. Your church is beautiful, and thank you, Father, for greeting me after the service. Bob Kenneweg |

I work in the Federal Building and the afternoon bus passes St George's every day....I see your "perogie sign' and always mean to stop, but never do. And I often think about celebrating Holy Mass with you, or the Divine Liturgy as it's referred to on your website.
My in-laws (both passed away) were both Greek Orthodox, their parents emigrated from Serbia and settled in Washington, PA, and worked in the coal mines. At the beginning of WWII, my in-laws married and moved to Pittsburgh.....to get "out of the mines" as George (his name) always reminded me! He joined the Army (42-44)and when discharged, went to work for USS Steel, Ambridge Works, for the next 35 years.
For some reason known only to God, I've been very focused this Lenten season, especially reading 3-4 books and becoming more aware....for the first time....that during the Divine Liturgy, heaven does touch down to earth, and we stand shoulder to shouder with the angels and saints before the throne of God. |

Beautiful church building, with exquisite icon screen! I like very much the icongraphy of the church interior. Pani Deborah and I are anxious to try the "best-tasting" pirohi in the Pittsburgh area. The Senior Citizens' home is a wonderful facility, established for our beloved elderly faithful, who sacrificed so genrously for the sake of our sacred temples, constructed for the glory of God. May God grant to your dedicated pastor, Fr. Valerian, Pani-Matka and young daughters, many years of good health, peace and happiness! |

Happy New Year...
O God, the beginning and the end of all things, Who art always the same, and Whose years fail not, we now, at the close of another year, kneel in adoration before Thee, and offer Thee our deepest thanks for the fatherly care with which Thou has watched over us during the past, for the many times Thou hast protected us from evils of soul and body, and for the numberless blessings, both temporal and spiritual, which Thou hast showered upon us. May it please Thee to accept the homage of our grateful hearts which we offer Thee in union with the infinite thanksgiving of Thy divine Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who with Thee liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Amen.
Collection of Prayers

I am the General Chairman of the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Basketball Tournament and we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our tournament this year. In 1961, St. George's High School played in and won our first tournament and I am looking for information . I know Ed Lawry (MVP) is still living and I am wondering if Coach Abby Bishop is still alive.
Thank You, Joe Carter
