Happy New Year...

O God, the beginning and the end of all things, Who art always the same, and Whose years fail not, we now, at the close of another year, kneel in adoration before Thee, and offer Thee our deepest thanks for the fatherly care with which Thou has watched over us during the past, for the many times Thou hast protected us from evils of soul and body, and for the numberless blessings, both temporal and spiritual, which Thou hast showered upon us. May it please Thee to accept the homage of our grateful hearts which we offer Thee in union with the infinite thanksgiving of Thy divine Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who with Thee liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Amen.

Collection of Prayers

I am the General Chairman of the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Basketball Tournament and we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our tournament this year. In 1961, St. George's High School played in and won our first tournament and I am looking for information .  I know Ed Lawry (MVP) is still living and I am wondering if Coach Abby Bishop is still alive.

Thank You,
Joe Carter

Hello father Valerian, Maybe you remember me from the Stropkov-region, I used to live in the village of Krusinec until 1997 when I married a Dutch man and moved to Holland. We visit Slovakia still every year to see the family and always attend church there. In Holland we have to attend the Roman-Catholic church. The Greek-Catholic liturgy still has my warm sympathy and interest and surfing on internet I saw your name and remembered you. So I send you greatings and blessings from Holland and wish you all the best. Dana Roza-Semancikova

I plan to visit Pittsburgh in the near future and wanted to find directions to your beautiful church. I put the correct name of your church in the computer and found that MapQuest has St. George's listed as St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This might be confusing to some people.
