As others have said, I never met Jude in person but I knew of her work with Senior Rescue since both of us were on Canine-L. I post the anniversary of Jude's passing on Canine-L. I believe we should always honor the memories of all those who have gone ahead, especially when they worked so tirelessly for the benefit of dogs while they were with us. Jude will always be remembered by me and all of us on Canine-L. Her passing was a great loss.

I met Jude on March 7, 1999 when she brought a precious little Shih tzu cross to our house that we had agreed to adopt. Jasmine was the little dog's name, and she became a precious part of our family. I kept in touch with Jude over the years, giving her updates on how Jasmine was doing. I was very saddened when I heard Jude had passed away. The world has lost a wonderful, caring person. My "little sweetie" (my nickname for Jasmine), passed away just 2 weeks after Jude, on April 11, at the age of 16 years. I am sure they have met up with each other by now, and Jasmine is telling Jude how happy she is that she gave her to us. Rest in peace, Jude.

I never met Jude but being a senior dog lover I was told about her by my friend, foster Mom of my first senior Papillon, Donna Allen. I went to her website often. I wish we could have met, she was a wonderful lady. Thanks Donna for telling me about her.

A slight correction... sorry to double-post. Jude founded the Senior Canine Rescue Society.

Ogesan (gramps) and rest of Texas kritters will look skyward and not cry. For we know that many will be allowed to cross over with Jude. All those that did not have a home. We thank you for your efforts. John and his Texas kritters

I was stricken to read on the CUR list that Jude had passed away. She was a modern-day saint for so many old dogs with nowhere else to go. She founded the Senior Dogs Rescue Project, and it was a sad day when she had to close it down... but I still treasure my "Love an Old Dog" shirt, and the ones I gave to my friends.
I never met Jude in person, which is so odd considering that we were friends, and that she was so helpful and kind. I am sure of one thing: that many of the seniors she rescued were there to greet her when she crossed the Bridge.
Safe passage, Jude. Say hello to Duncan, Doogie, Merlin, Cadence, Chloe, and Briscoe for me.

Jude will be greatly missed by all. Perhaps more rescuers will pick up where she left off ... there aren't many of us out there who feel the way she did about the old castaways. We all know Jude will be greeted with open paws and lots of kisses over the Rainbow Bridge ! Kathleen St. George, UT
