I've purchased a Yorkie and am waiting to bring her home. I've been reading that she should be 12 weeks old before she leaves her Mom and brothers and sisters. That seems so long to wait. She was born August 28 and I'm due to pick her up on Monday the 19th...which is only 7 weeks old. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks.-----------------------My Reply: 7 weeks old is much too young to take a puppy from her mother. Obviously the breeder only interest is the money rather than the welfare of the puppy or you. Much of the necessary socialization of the puppy occurs in those first 12 week and that’s something NO HUMAN can replace. I’d ask the breeder to hold the pup for an additional 5 weeks even if it means having to pay a little more.

I have a 4 month old Yorkie. She started out going to the pee pad really well.We had one by the back door in the room where we spend most of our time and one in the bathroom where she sleeps. The puppy goes outside several times a day but I keep the pee pads in case I get busy and dont see that she needs to go.She will pee and poop outside but she will equally do them inside. She pees on her pee pad and also on the carpet.I asked the vet assist. today if she thought she had a kidney infection because her spots on the carpet on just dime sized. I am frustrated and at the end of my rope.I hate to try crate training because I am home all day and it seems cruel to leave her in her crate while I am walking around through the house.I have seen her walk into the room I am in and just squat and pee while looking right at me and 10 steps away is her pee pad! Any advice?!
