Hi Renee, I just found your site! How exciting! My grandmother was Mary Prather so I thought I would see if I could find info on her ancestors. We have a family book that goes back quite a ways and while I don't have it now ( it gets passed around and I'm not sure who has it now.) I did copy some info and names from it.Thanks for the work you've done.It's quite interesting. It makes me want to go to England and look for more. Isn't that where they are originally from? As a Prather, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your history. I am constantly searching for information regarding my branch of the Prather family. I am an African-American whose family grow up in the Laytonsville area of Montgomery County, Md. Our family has traced our genealogy back to GEORGE PRATHER, a free black man born 1792 in Montgomery County, Maryland.
