Been looking at the photo's et al on this site and the odd memory has surfaced...though many of the names I remember are missing. I don't remember so much about being at Tal handaq, though I remember the beach of an afternoon and doing some high cliff diving from time to time - oh and the uniform. Fav teacher was Mr Alexander, the English teacher, and I do remember going on the cruise ships. Think I was there 67/68 ish.

Anyway a nice site and it took me back for a while. Nice to see it here. Thanks for looking after it.

Hi

I was at TH from Sep 1974 to Jul 1977 and absolutely loved my time there. My older sister, Katrina, was there too but only until July of 76. We lived at Mosta and got the no. 71 bus, I think, from the Tip Top on the main road through the town.

When the time came to return to the UK, I was really sad to leave the school that I enjoyed so very much. Life after that just wasn't the same. :-(

Names that I remember are Denise Paul (sister of Keith), Karen & Heather McKay, Richard 'Hedgehog' Howarth (and his siblings Kathryn, Michael? and James, I think), Dawn Ramsay, Joanne Hill, Jacquie Hall, Julie Stagg & Johanna Hills.

I was the quiet one - honest! ;-)

Between the ages of 15 & 17, I was at TH (1958-1/2 to 1960-1/2). It was tremendously character forming. The memories - 'though blurred, yet remain vivid in patches & wonderful to boot. Anyone rememeber me, please get in touch. Regards, Bob.

ps to Robin again, see bbc dot co dot uk/ww2peopleswar/stories/15/a8874615 - it might be possible to track down Paul Fuller, he mentions his troop was at Senglea. But the BBC won't help find contributors, we've tried before.

To Robin Williams - I expect you've found that the Dockyard Sea Scouts were formed in 1914, see seascout dot org/about/history-uk . This is an American site but very well-researched, might be worth getting in touch to see where they got the info. There is a contact link at bottom of page.

Good point Liz. The quickest way to the Verdala site is via the link on the left hand side of the Home Page. (Pity there is no convenient reciprocal link!)
