Thank you for this website. I saw those bones as a child and was disgusted then. I clearly remember the attitudes of LDS members when I asked why they were not buried: "They are Indian bones". My wife of 26 years is Lakota, and an enrolled tribal member of the Rosebud in South Dakota. The recent issues with Blanding made me sick, and the letter of Hatch and Bennett to the DOJ has clearly demonstrated to me that nothing has changed from the time I first saw those bones in the church museum. When Jon Huntsman signed the proclamation for the protection of sacred sites at the request of Arvol Looking Horse, it seemed there might be hope, but within months, Huntsman himself rode in the Sturgis Ralley and disregarded the meeting of American Indian leaders. Hatch and Bennett, Huntsman, and the LDS leaders clearly have no regard for anything sacred other than LDS property and doctrine. Your website is a valuable resource on this matter. Thanks again, Mike Message Number: 74 - Wednesday, January 6, 2010 11:52:28 PDT [IP = 97.117.8.57] -United States ![]()

Mr. Gottfredson,
I have thoroughly enjoyed your website and I look forward to the release of the film. I found your website while I was searching for information on one of my relatives, William Luke. I read some of the guest comments and it turns out that a relative of mine that I don’t know posted comments on Mr. Luke. Thank you for your contribution to telling an important part of the history of the west in a meaningful and honest way.

Thank you for the candor in which you present the information on this site. I am from Kanosh, Utah and grew up interacting with the local native peoples (for which I have nothing but love and respect in my heart). It is a harsh reminder of our own heritage of bloodshed and repression, but I thank you for your work in bringing so much information together. Hopefully the more people learn of the past, the more we may strive for a better understanding and respect amongst ourselves. Again, thank you. I think you have done a wonderful thing for your people. My mother is of mixed race with her father being a Comanche. It's been great learning some of the Native American traditions. Please keep up the good work. It is greatly appreciated.
