How wonderful that all these years later the bonds formed in good old 1 mile square Albany are still so strong and so many people from your class are still meeting and traveling together!

I have just one question, and though you all graduated many years before he began his 39 year career at Albany High, someone must know: Does anyone know just how old Kermit Bankson really is?! Inquiring young minds want to know...

Hi, I was just surfing for any info on my great uncle Tex Rankin. My Grandfather was Tex's brother, Dick Rankin. Dick Rankin was also an instructor at Rankin Field. My Dad passing away on October 15th of last year has made me think about all the stories he used to tell us about the three Rankin boys. I will be back to checkout all your tips for researching family history. I'm looking for info on Tex's parents etc. Thanks for such a great web sight! Kristen

Love your website. Wish someone from the class of 50-51 would do the same. You might have known brother Dick Coltrin...don't recall what year he graduated in...maybe 45 or 46.

After graduation, I spent 4 years in the US Coast Guard in
Connecticut and Guam. My wife, Virginia and I were married
in 1950. We have 5 children 12 grandchildren and 1 great
grandchild!
I retired in 1988 from Shell Oil Co. in Houston,TX where we
now live. Since retiring, we have traveled to most of
Europe, China, and Australia. Most recently, we visited the
Galapagos Islands. Recently had the opportunity to visit
with Snowden and Shyvers. We had a ball.

Grad. U.C. Berkeley '51. Army active '51, '52
'53 - reserve '53, retired as Colonel '83. Art
educator/administrator, Mt. Diablo Unified (Calif.) 1956
until retired in 1988. Wife, Bette, 5 children, 13
grandchildren. Live 7 months in Naples, Florida, 5 months
in Pine Mountain Lake, (Groveland) Calif. In retirement,
travel, art, tennis, golf, author and cancer survivor.

Went on to U. C. Berkeley and, with a break of a couple of
years in the army ultimately got a doctorate in chemistry
in '54. Taught first at Cornell then U. S. C., where I'm
still full-time. Married Wena in '50 and have three
dsughters, six grand kids. Wena is still an active
architect. We live in Culver City. A great benefit of a
university postion is travel; we've lived in England for a
year and in Italy for a total of almost two years.

Comments:
After graduating I attended U.C. Berkeley and began
teaching in Costra Costa County. This was interrupted by
two years in the service from 1950-52. I then returned to
teaching and served as a school principal,Assistant
Superintendent and a Superintendent of Schools in San Jose.
Upon retiring, my wife, Nancy, and I moved to the Olympic
Peninsula in Washinton. I now serve as President of the
International Council for Self-Esteem, consulting
throughout the world.

Comments:
My college major was in Social Welfare. I worked for the
Social Security Administration as a Service Representative.
My wife had two children, one of whom has since passed on.
Now that I am of retirement age, I have two part-time
positions, doing accounting for a cryonics company and for
a psychotherapist.

I enjoyed getting together for our 60th Class Reunion, and
learning that everyone is doing well.
