CONTINUED ....I turned over and noticed that all the lights were flashing on the babies monitor meaning that there was a lot of noise in his room - I hadn't heard it because the volume was all the way down without me realizing it. I ran into the kitchen on the way to the babies room and grabbed Shadow so he didn't wake up the rest of the kids. Still not realizing what was actually going on, I went into the babies room to find him having a severe seizure. He had bit his tongue and his mouth was bleeding. I picked him up and set the puppy down. He followed me all the way into the living room and stayed right by the baby and whined and cried. As his seizure began to subside, Shadow started licking him and wagging his tail. He came out of the seizure shortly and pretty soon he was petting the puppy like nothing had ever happened. I would not have awakened with out the persistant "call" of our Shadow. Thank you Hearthside!

e are foster parents to a special needs child who suffers from seizures due to abuse. I can't mention his name to protect his identity. It was decided by his therapist that a dog would be good for him and help him with some of his therapy. I'm not here to advocate this for others, I'm just saying that after a lot of research we saw a lot of positive things about the Maltipoo being used and trained in therapy with the elderly and physically handicapped. We read that they tend to seek out those who they sense "need" them. For this, and other reasons, we chose the Maltipoo. Because many of his seizures occur at night and can be quite severe, we have a video monitor in our room that monitors him as he sleeps. We had just picked up Lenny/Shadow and had a long ride home and I must have forgotten to turn up the volume on the monitor - the picture was on so I assumed the volume was on also. I took Shadow out before putting him in his crate for the night and he settled right in - just a minute or so of whining and was quiet the rest of the night...until early morning. I heard him whining and barking. He got louder and louder. I turned over and noticed that all the lights were flashing on the babies monitor m

Just wanted to say what a great experience adopting from you has been for our family. Lenny/Shadow was so calm and he settled in so easy. Totally dif. experience than we had with another breeder. Shadow is so well socialized that he didn't even get nervous after being exposed to the "loudness" of our family [5 kids] :-} No accidents in the house! Wow! Seems to know exactly what outside is for. Easy, easy to work with. What a wonderful christian example you are in the way you are committed to your family - and to your pets. Also, topnotch service! Thank you for accepting our spur-of-the-moment change of plans and catering to our schedule by allowing us to pick him up a week before we had originally planned. We HIGHLY recommend Hearthside.
