My dad, Don Everly was one of the cordovians that planned the first Ice Worm Festival. My dad was the manager for Cordova/PNA Airline. We moved to Cordova in 1959. My brother Doug Everly played basketball and graduated in 1964, Dan was into hunting. My sister Mary and I attended grade school. We were there during the Good Friday earthquake. We had lots of fun in Cordova, bowling, sledding, the parking lot of the old highschool, where all the kids met to play games. My best friend was Glenda Yarbrough, I've tried to find her, but no luck yet. If you know of her, could you send this message? I look forword to hearing from those with ties to Cordova.

Who would believe it been 49 years of fun for the Iceworm Festival. Only Cordovan's could keep such a fun and whacky festival going for so long. Thank you all. If you never visited during the Iceworm Festival dont miss it in 2010 when the festival turns 50. Oh what a celebration we will have. Watch the site for updates and plan on attending the BIG 50 CELEBRATION!!!! February 5, 6, & 7, 2010.

Oh, I do miss this special time in Cordova! The Craft Show, the Survival Suit races, watching the parade in the rain or snow! How can you not enjoy it all? The very best part was seeing folks who had been hibernating all winter out on the street visiting and laughing with each other. Such a great town; such wonderful friends. I feel so fortunate to have shared some years with you all. Marilyn Eaton

First, HELLO Grace it is great to see that you have left a message. Ask your mom about a 1000 aces sometime, PLEASE.
Second, to whomever reads this site that has never been to Cordova Alaska, I encourage you to go... while it is truly a beautiful place( I think the most Beautiful place in the world) what makes Cordova special is the people, above everything else, you wont find a more caring and loving people anywhere. There is a sense of community that you rarely find in other places.
