I couldn't agree more with the comment below from Trish MaCdonnell. Quite frankly I don't know how the Scottish Tourist Board get away with it - scandalous!!And some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole world. I'm really surprised by the Scottish Tourist Board's laziness in promoting this beautiful area of the country. Even if all they did was promote the many campsites and facilities for bikers and walkers, it'd be something. No wonder it can be hard to make a living here....the powers that be are happily diverting everyone into the Central Belt and Borders Message Number: 96 - Thursday, January 5, 2012 18:11:35 GMT [IP = 86.159.177.128] -United Kingdom ![]()

Gary, Did the weather station blow down last night? What was the top wind speed before it gave up. It was quite a gale for a while. Myself and my family have been visiting KLB for about 15yrs.On all these visits we had never seen an otter,we have been here for the past 10days and we have seen 3 otters 2 my wife and I saw on Polin beach and today 19th Oct we watched an otter off Sheigra beach fishing. The otter managed to catch something and we watched it go ashore and eat its catch. A magic moment for us makes our trips to KLB well worth it.Looking forward to our next trip already. Hi there. I found it sadly amusing that 'Visit Scotland'would suggest there is nothing to see in the North West. Lets see, apart from some of the most emotive and rugged scenery in the northern hemisphere there are the beaches as close to pristine as you would find anywhere in the world. Aside from the diversity of the wildlife and flora, there is the exquisite tranquility that cannot be found anywhere else on mainland Britain. Lets not forget the warmth and patience of the people lucky enough to live there,,,apart from all these things ,Visit Scotland' is still ,sadly, missing the point.
