I also am a descendent of George Donner's early marriages - not sure which one, think it was Blue. I remember my great grandmother, Grace Donner Linn, speaking of Cumi's. Her daughter married a McClure, my maiden name. What a small world this is! Attended the 150th anniversary of the Donner Party in Nevada. Thanks for having this info on the web. I hope that someday my children will be interested in it and be able to locate it easily.

I was talking to my 14 yr old son about the Donner party story and was looking for information to show him about it, that's when I stumbled across this website, I was out in Nevada visiting my Mom and saw some of the land marks of the Donner trails it was Cool to see but sad at the same time.

How wonderful it is to know that your family is a part of not only california history but american history as well. Many years ago my mom started tracing our family background and found she was eligable for Daughters of the american Revolution on her mothers side. She had mentioned to me many years ago during her searches that our family members may have been on that journey, interesting thought or wishful thinking, something I'll look into. It's been a pleasure to read about your family.

I am a decendent of the donners as well. My grandmother was merle roberts her mom was a donner. my grandmother grew up in betrand nebraska. she passed last year. she is survived by at least six kids and around 20 some grandchildren, almost as many great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren. hello from oregon happy thanksgiving
