I just read Lucille Youngers "A Tear in the Universe" and it totally overwelmed me. I am a product of The Sisters Of Charity BVM, speding 5 years of my life with them at St. Rose's Orphanage in Milwaukee, Wis. 1952 thru 1957. Arrived with my three olders sisters and left at the age of seven in 1957. Tomorrow I am, with my sister Bev, driving to Dubuque to say Thank You and just as "A Tear in the Universe" states that light is still in my window and I am "A Tear in the Universe"! It was powerful reading for me because as I read that was and is "just the way it was" and is and forever shall be. To a wonderful group of Women, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You, you've give me much, more than any of you shall ever know. I was very touched by the depth of feeling exhibited in Gary Czerwinsky's work...I could fall in love with someone like that. Debra Lake (originally posted on 2/4/2004)
