Please review the following: In order to ensure that we are able to keep the pace of play below 5 hours and to avoid any problems with the 1st group falling behind. We keep a log of those players which play fast and those that have a tendancy to push the limits. Those players in the first couple of groups will generally be found to include one if not two of the faster players in the county, thereby setting the pace for the rest of the field. We don't want a repeat of a couple of years ago where the first groups caused a delay in the pace of play resulting in a 5 1/2 hour round. Almost all of the courses pace of play turns out at 4:15 to 4:30 for normal play. With time stats now being provided on the scorecards, pace of play should be easy to follow. Hope this provides some insight into the pairings for the first several groups.

How is it right that the same person tees off first every YCAGA event? You know who I am talking about. That is not fair.

I would just like to commend the committee on the pace of play Sunday for the better ball. The 10 minute tee times seemed to work really well.

Studdering Steps, we agree that rain and cold weather conditions should not cause an event to be cancelled. We would think that last years Champion of Champions event and this years Better Ball event would have shown that York area golfers are not proned to not playing do to the weather. But, when conditions make the course unplayable (greens with standing water, temporary water hazards through out fairways and rough etc), create conditions which would cause substantial damage to the course and make the greens unputtable, we think this may fall as extreme conditions. Wish it wasn't so and we can only find a couple of instances where an event was cancelled or delayed in our history. We do apologize for the inconvenience and refunds of the tournament fee (less the dinners) will be made to those who are unable to reschedule. I myself was ready with a cart cover and heater, but alas the course with the continued rain today was not. Thanks for your inquiry.

Oh Mr. Chairman, I came to realize that the local high school golfers competed this past week in the inclement cold rainy weather for Districts at Briarwood. Why can these Junior golfers play and our event, the "modified" two man scramble gets postponed. I feel we are setting a poor wimpy example for our Junior Golfers out there as they are showing more testicular fortitude that us older adults. It's not like we are a part of Nascar, it is just rain. We should have held our event as scheduled under the notion that all teams would have had to endure the same conditions. Now I will have to make arrangements to get next Saturday off to accomodate this weak decision. Heck I even purchased a pair of cowboy boots with soft spikes to keep my ankles dry in these wet conditions.

QUESTION.... WHY IS THERE A 74 IN THE THIRD TO THE LAST GROUP AND TWO 73'S PLAYING IN THE FOURTH TO LAST GROUP? THIS IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF HOW SUNDAY'S TEE TIMES ARE! TOM WATSON WONT GET PENALIZED IN THE OPEN FOR BEING LOW BALL BY BEING RANDOMLY PUT IN ANY GROUP BUT THE LAST WILL HE?
