Abla,
I still think of Faris on his birthday. I miss that amazing guy dearly. He made an impression on everyone he came across, how could I ever forget him.

Faris and I had birthdays in August. I was looking for him just recently and just read of his untimely death. I'm so sorry. We went to school together in Tunis. His mother kept in touch with my family until her passing. Last time I talked to Moncef was when their mother died.I then retired and moved to Louisiana. Please know there is a place in the hearts of those of us who knew him. May there be peace in your heart. Always, Donni Shields, Baton Rouge, LA

Dear Abla, I don't think you will remember me but I met you once at a party at Sahar Rais's house. I worked with Faris at NAPS for a very short time back in 1999. I was having dinner with her last night and she told me the sad news. When I was in law school, I used to run into Faris all the time at the Van Ness Metro station. He always stopped to chat with me. He was such a unique person that made a lasting impression on me with his warm and friendly personality. I am so sad at his passing. This website is a great idea and a wonderful tribute to an amazing person.

My oncle told me that he has a friend in America. A great politician and intellectual. Later, I knew that our former President had correspondance with Abed Bouhafa. I wished to know his son Faris, in Zarzis, because because he is from my town, a free man, and Bob dynelit like me.
My sincere condoleances for his family.

I met Faris over 40 years ago and although we had lost touch many years ago, I still thought of him often. My heartfelt sympathy to all of his friends and family. Even though it was so very long ago, I never forgot his loving and gracious manner.

ps... give Roquiefort a tickle under his chin for me... and tell that he, too, lives on in my heart.
