Hi "cousin" David, I'm a descendent of Standish, Alden, Sampson and a couple of others from the Mayflower. Perhaps a little haphazard with my dedication but really enjoying it and love the links you have on your page. Mac Wolcott Connecticut

My father-in-law and husband, Leon Doty Harrington Sr. and Jr. were descended from Edward Doty the Pilgrim. Leon Sr. grew up in Spafford NY area and was the son of Irving Harrington who was a teacher in Nedrow NY on the Indian reservation. Leon Jr. grew up in Syracuse NY. I know someone has done research on the Harrington's connection to Edward Doty but have not been able to contact anyone. Any information would be gratfully appreciated.

p>Dear Sir: From the History of the Upper Mississippi River Valley, 1881. "Charles L. Merry, one of the pioneers of Sauk Centre [Stearns County, Minnesota], was born in the state of Maine, on the 16th May, 1811. He was employed on his father's farm until noon on his twenty-first birthday when he left home, and soon after commenced working on the neighboring farms in summer, and in the lumber woods in winter, contin uing the same for about four years. He then began farming in Franklin county, but in 1850 removed to Pisctaquis County, and followed the plow until 1857, when he came to Minnesota, and settled on a farm about 8 miles northwest of Minneapolis. In 1859, he came to Sauk Centre, and settled on the spot which has been his home ever since. Mr. Merry built the first frame house in the township. He was united in marriage with Miss mary Jane Thompson on the 23rd of August 1834. Of ten children born to them, but six of them are living." This person is my gr gr gr grandfather. His middle name may be Luce. I am having a difficult time tracing his ancestry before his birth. He might be the child of Asa and Sally Message Number: 36 - Friday, October 5, 2007 15:20:02 EST - [IP = 69.69.189.8]
I have traced my Washburn ancestors from John, The immigrant(1) to John, Jr.(2 ) to Samuel(3) down to my grandmother Lois Elisberth Washburn Willis (11) to myself Judson D. Taylor, Jr. (13). Is this web site still active; are you members of the Mayflower Society? I just discovered this site 7 Oct. 2007.
