An excellent site, I have enyoyed reading it.

I am looking to set up some form of english Ape forum or even a UK club as there seems to be nothing like this at the moment. Please email me if you would like the link to the forum. My address is freddyjharris@hotmail.com. It has no members except me but I hope I can find other people like me who want to share help and information on the Ape.

I I bought the ape 50 pickup 2000 model from a local green house who used it to harvest cucumbers 4000 on the clock apart from the wiper motor everything works it had 3 replaced already
they wanted 200 for a new one. so I got one from a wrecker that looked like it would work. had to grind the raised hole back a bit . but it works fine(passed the MOT) the only thing its got a self oiling system. but it should smoke more .infact no smoke at all. the manual shows nothing about it (thanks for putting the manual on line your a champion)so any input would be helpful ( is surposed smoke or is it adjusted perfectly so it gives off no smoke?)
I'm an artist and bought it so I could put my painting gear in the back and look for places to paint. for me going slow has its advantages
the one thing that surprised me was the interest
so far I drove it for an hour Illegally to get the MOT I drove passed a police car(Oh shit)but they just smiled and one guy flagged me down and asked me if I wanted to sell it and three more asked if it was for sale when i parked at the garage for 2 days
I paint in southern spain quite often and thats where I got the idea. there you see them every day all over the place.
anyone looking for a

What a great job on the restoration & your Dad deserves credit for his forward thinking. I hope to find & license an Ape for advertising my Sign Business, in Bright Yellow of course with possibly a Honda 4 stroke. Regulations being what they are here means a lot of research first. Like Johnny Cash said.."I'll have the only one around."/Glen

Hi Ape 50 restoration project person... and hi everyone else.

I have i forum about scooters and a person is asking for help with what i belive is the Piaggio Ape.

He is asking for the "exploded drawings" or what they are called... you know spareparts that at pulled apart in drawings in pdf file maby.

I have seen you scanned manual but it dossent have the exploded drawings part.

He says its a 2 gear one he has and he is also asking for what kind of olie to use in the clutch and the part that is pulling the wheels i dont know what it is called.

If anyone can help that would be nice.
