I just learned that one of my ancestors died in the Andersonville prison on 26 or 27 August 1864. His name is JOHN RANDOLPH CARROLL and his unit was Company I, 78th Illinois Infantry. His burial site is: #7037. What info do you have on him and can you take a photo of his grave? Please and thank you!

Just to let you know. My gr-grandfather was in Andersonville prison. As I'm doing the family tree it came to my attention that several of his family members were in with him. Along with his family members guarded them without any knowledge of this fact.

My family were, I have been told, the first white settlers in what is now Moundsville, West Virginia. I have been told some of my relatives died at Andersonville during the war. I am not sure if the first name was James or Joseph Tomlinson. If you have any information I would appreciate you letting me know.

I am trying to find out if my relative, George Larkam, is buried at Andersonville Prison Cemetery. He was captured at Cold Harbor June 1, 1864, and I have records from the National Archives that he was a prisoner at Andersonville and died there. I have no idea where he was buried. I hope you may be able to access records locally that may help. His mother, in order to receive her son's pension, had to hire and attorney and provide documentation, which included depositions of fellow prisoners who witnessed George Larkam's death and his body being carried away. Hope you may be able to help!
