Enjoyed visiting this great and informative "Royal Coachmen" web site. Was in the unit 1977-1979, when the unit was assigned as the V Corps Command Aviation Company, Maurice Rose Army Airfield, Bonames, Germany. I have been told that I was the longest serving Company Commander of the this unit - 33 months. Unit was the Aviation Company, 3d Armored Division before Colors changed to the 62d Royal Coachman in 1977. 1SGT of the unit was Skip Kern . . . still living in PA.

Hey Huey, Very nice site. You are a true soldier. You put it all on the line for something more important than yourself. Very, very few would ever do anything like that or even understand the concept of such selflessness. You are a hero. Hope to see you soon. Chuck

I recieved this site from a member of the 48th AHC Blue Stars. When they disbanded in 1972 I was reasigned to the 62ND. Was a door gunner for a while then made CE. I stayed untill the JMC/ICCS missions were about finished in June of 73. Went to Ft. Hood from there. One of the people that sticks in my mind was a gunner name Shaky Desimmons. Called Shaky cause his hands shook something terrible. Then there was Ed Wiese, and Jack Young. If any one has any info about these fellow Coachmen, I would love to hear from you. Best of luck to everyone of you out there and WELCOME HOME!
