Came upon the Waterman's having been let down at our prebooked accommodation. Couldn't have worked out better if we had tried, in fact we were glad the prebooked was shut. We had a lovely sized room, comfortable bed, warm welcome, the nicest country pub we've come across in a long time, lovely meals and ales. Would recommend without hesitation and certainly will return.
Dear Janie and Rob, just want to say a massive thank you for my birthday party couldnt of asked for more. Food excellent so a BIG thank you to the chefs! Family and friends enjoyed the night so once again thank you for a fantastic time Claire x
Dear Jane and Rob What a wonderful party I had for my birthday! You made all my guests feel at home, you made me feel wonderful and although I had some last minute hiccups you kept me calm. The service was the best I have had anywhere - the food was gorgeous, all my guests thought it was some of the best they had tasted and the quantities of food - I could noto have asked for more. Rooms were all clean, warm and the little additions made it great! Absolutely loved having a bathroom wrap to wander around in. Thank you sooo much once again. No wonder people love staying at your inn. Isobel
We came to your pub for Christmas day lunch 2009.It was the most fantastic meal that we have had for a long time .We could not find fault with the food or the staff.The atmosphere was very welcoming and hopefully we will be coming down to Devon from Southampton in the near future and will certainly be coming to you for something to eat. I stayed with my wife on the all inclusive rate, three course dinner, bed and breakfast for £50 each per night and could not believe the value. We struggled to eat all the food the service was excellent and the pub is very warm and friendly add this to a clean room and our stay was about as good as you can get, can't wait to return, thanks
We really enjoyed our stay despite the dreadful weather.The log fires were particularly welcoming as was the immaculate room with thoughtful additions of bottled water and cosy robes.We reallt enjoyed hearty breakfasts and evening meals particularly homemade bread,marmalade and free range produce. Thankyou to Emma and Bo for your entertaining company ! We want to come back in early summer to sit in the lovely outside area and hopefully sample breakfast by the river!

This was our 3rd visit of the year which speaks for itself.The pub and area have a magic which you rarely experience,give it a try and you will not be dissapointed.
We had a fantastic stay with you thank you very much. The location is stunning, and we really enjoyed being served breakfast by the river. All of the staff were very helpful, The rooms were really comfortable, and we look forward to a return trip.
We ate at the inn on Thursday evening and I would just like to say it was thoroughly enjoyable, food was excellent and staff were all very pleasant. Many thanks.
