Comments:

An excellent pub and accommodation for the duration of our stay over the New Year.

The room was clean and tidy, good sized towels in the bathroom, much better than the 'postage stamps' so often supplied and the shower was powerful, not a dribble like in some hotels.

Well kept beer from Palmer's of Dorset.

The New Year's celebrations were OK, but nothing special and at times, it felt we were observers at a private party for the landlord and his friends. Others said much the same but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves none the less.

I'd certainly return at times other than New Year and wish the pub well for the future.

This was our third stay at the watermans, as before we were welcomed by friendly staff. We booked into the restaurant for dinner as before we couldn't fault anything the foods delicious and there was plenty of it. We love the setting and the atmosphere of this comfortable country pub. We enjoyed Sunday lunch which even the hungriest would find hard to get through, and the cheese board is a must! We are looking forward to returning again in the spring.

We really enjoyed our 2 night break in the quiet off-peak season but that was the attraction.

All the staff were polite and friendly and service was  very efficient - only one problem was the overly generous meal sizes - Breakfast was a hearty meal and the range of choice excellent!  Go for the snacks to make room for a pudding!!

Would hope to revist in the future.

Ten of us visited this great pub and had wonderful food and excellent service.  The menu is great and there was something to suit every palate.  The local produce is delicious and the staff extremely welcoming.

This was our second time here and we brought visiting friends from South Africa.  They were mesmerised by the setting and the tranquility and they too will be recommending the Waterman's to their friends and family in SA.

Words do not describe how peaceful and tranquil The Watermans Arms is.The food is outstanding and plentiful. The staff that work there are very dedicated in making sure your stay is a good one. Our room overlooked the river which was very pretty. This is the second time we have stayed here and already booked for a 3rd time.

What a magical setting. The venue is so atmospheric, set by a running stream. Staff so pleasant. Oh! the breakfasts! So beautifully cooked and presented, either in the dining room, by the stream, or in the pretty covered area. Our room was so comfortable, with a peaceful view of greenery and hanging baskets. We visited Devon for a family wedding, our son & family and nephew and partner met us for Sunday lunch at The Waterman's Arms and just went 'wow' 'Wow' indeed!

Just returned from a 4 night stay. Great location, very peaceful and extremely beautiful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom first class with gallons of hot water for relaxing bath at the end of a days walking. Dartmouth and Totnes close by with great river trips. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day.

A very nice pub in an outstanding location. Very pleasant staff. Food was excellant. Room (No 11) was huge and very comfortable. Cannot think of a negative comment to make.
