I recently lost my beloved shipoo who just turned (7) years old to IMHA. Wednesday he was running around as usual, Thursday he could not move and I took him to the Vet. Friday afternoon at 2:00 he died. I am completely and honestly devasted that this disease could kill so fast. I loved my dog with all my heart and soul. When I get another dog, I will be careful about getting him his shots. If anyone has experienced this awful disease pertaining to their dog, feel free to e-mail me.

my baby aries went to have spay surgery 2-4-10 by 1-6-10 i noticed that she just wasnt normal she was healthy 9 month old puppy but for some reason after her surgery her body dehydrated to the point of kidney failure i dont know what cuased it but i am under the impression that the drugs that they gave my aries did that to her they didnt watch her blood pressure close enough. so on 2-6-10 bi took her to banfield all they could do was give her more meds for an ear infection? the next day 2-7-10 she was worse so i took her back to banfield they did blood work then and said she was dehydrated by 12% she was hospitalized that night but her kindeys were still giving a bad reading so i took her to another vet and they told me that her kidneys were already to much damaged from the dehydration that she maynot make it much lomger unless you put her in the hospital for a few days. by that time we were out of funds so we had to put her down. its just not fair my baby had to suffer because the vets failed to explain the

I found this site when i was researching rimadyl. My dog Willie hurt his knee the next day the vet was able to see him. They gave me rinadyl I asked if there were side effects and they said no. I thought how could that be there are side effects for every thing on the market. I did not give him this medication and I never will. I also found out about titer blood test. My vet never told me about this and kept pushing to vaccinate him every year. It's all about the money. One vet I had seen even was surprised I knew about them. I have had Willie for 6 years now and the first year I gave him all the yearly vaccines the thought he should have. I found out by another vet that he had a reaction from the distemper shot not my vet. It's all about the money. I have no trust in any vet that i have ever seen. Even did review searches and word of mouth and still don't trust any one of them. Needless to say Willie has titer test every year and he's never needed to be vaccinated again. I'm so thankful for this web site.

Very informative site. After losing a cocker spaniel to IMHA I have been looking into this topic frequently. My vet argues there's no proof that vaccines are harmful and refused to titer my last dog, but instead I was scorned for being an internet junkie by the vet tech (who has had no formal training of any kind)If I ever have another dog I will limit the vaccines for sure!

One week ago my dog went to the vet to be rehydrated following tummy upset. Blood count fine and no evidence of blockage in tests done. Took him home with Rimadyl to help mobility. He was an 8yo English Mastiff who was getting a bit slow in the hind legs. No warning given to me of effects of Rimadyl. He took it for three days. He was up and walking with a bit of help from me to get going. He then showed symptoms of tarry, blood cot stools two days after finishing Rimadyl. He was was lethargic, became very weak and refused to eat. The vet prescribed two different medications to counterreact a possible ulcer from Rimadyl. He only got to have one dose, he died last night. I wonder now why he died. He was given the all clear of no blockage when he first stayed at the vets and he came home happy. NEVER, NEVER will a pet of mine be given Rimadyl. I cant be sure this drug killed my dog but he showed a lot of the symptoms of an adverse affect to this drug.
R.I.P Sir Lancelot, you were part of the family and so much
