My brother and I stayed at the Old Carson Inn over the Labor day weekend. Our stay was perfection. The area was serene, and the Inn was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Every morning, I went out on the porch and watched the hummingbirds sipping nectar at both the feeders and the flowering pots. The hot tub in the evening was great, after a day of activity in this beautiful area. The hosts were excellent company and knowledgeable about the region. Breakfast was superb and provided a filling, healthy start to an active day. I highly recommend this Inn and intend to stay there again.

Comfortable and well maintained. Nice location about 10 miles from Lake City -- convenient to driving the Alpine Loop 4x4 scenic route. Breakfast was ample, with a nice selection of fruits, coffee, bread, croissants, cold cereal, juices and coffee. The sliced ham, turkey and gourmet cheeses added a European flair. Soft-boiled eggs were offered, but we would have preferred eggs to order, a breakfast casserole, quiche or another hot addition. That would have made the breakfast a more memorable part of our stay. Ursula was a great host and we had a pleasant visit.

Really neat place to stay. Ursula is a excellent host... very hospitable and personable. The breakfast was outstanding! It contained a wide variety of foods and was very tasty. I have a couple suggestions for improvements: 1) The rooms could have extra sheets & blanket available. 2) It would be nice if the place had a piano.

We loved the Old Carson Inn. What a wonderful combination of memories and experiences in one. Like visiting family in Europe with the wonderful privacy of the Colorado Mountains. Our evening was enjoyed out in the hot tub with the stars and sparkling wine. Breakfast reminded us of our travels abroad with cheeses, meats, fresh baked goodies, coffee, juice and freshly poached eggs. All were enjoyed out on the patio in the fresh morning air.
