I spent 2 years in the prep school before the seven years in the "Grammar " school being one of the final year at Oak Drive. After school and university I never lived in Manchester again and eventually lost touch with everyone except Barbara Clegg (nee Waters) who sadly died about 4 years ago.
PS. There were 2 girls called Mary Morris in my year. I was the one called "Mary Catherine " on my exam papers. (Neither of us had second names, so I had to use my Confirmation name!

It is so hard to believe that our lovely school is no longer there especially, if you read Pat Harris's book, because so much effort had gone into bringing about our new building.

I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at these archives which Pat has so painstakingly put together. So I'm saying thanks to her an to everyone who worked so hard to make The Hollies such a family.

I have greatly enjoyed seeing the posts on the FB page and catching up with some of my old friends from The Hollies but still some I have not had contact with for ' a number' of years. Does anyone remember Miss McAlpine. I haven't seen her mentioned ( I think) I remember thinking she was a breath of fresh air!

Seems like ancient history to look back. In many ways our lives were simpler. Changes escalated after the war and my generation were in at some ofthe beginnings: women's education, equal pay,permissive society,globalisation.
