Hi Margaret, Forgot to mention that I did some research with CLS online and got the Elliotts back to James(c.1735) along with inlaws (Foster, Jackson, etc.) Interested to see Ann OMBLER. Omblers important family in area - monument in Keyingham Church to one. Also - stretching it a little, a William was leaser of the South Holderness contingent in catholic rebellion(The Pilgrimage of Grace) against Henry VIII - not known if he kept his head. Regards Ken

Hi, Noticed your site was updated since we e-mailed via Gene Reunited - thanks for the information. I did notice that you have Sarah Hutchinson Ellis down as Sarah Ellis Hutchinson. She was my Great Grandmother and my research gave me the former version, she being the daughter of John Ellis and, traditionally, one child had as a 'christian' name the maiden name of the mother - in this case Ann Hutchinson. Regards Ken

Hello,my grandfather was Henry Hunter born in Halsham in 1884,the son of John and Isabella. I noticed he is not listed along with his other siblings, perhaps because he emigrated to the U.S.in 1908,some info was not available. He came back for visits several times and we maintain connections with family living in Patrington. My brother and I will be in England in March and have been doing some family research. Your site helps fill in several details. Thanks

I tried to send a message yesterday but am not sure if it went! My 3rd Gt Grandfather married a Selina Hutchinson of Ryehill b1809. I suspect this is the Solens Hutchinson, daughter of Robert, christened in Skeckling with Burstwick in Mar 1809. She is buried in Ottringham with her husband and brother William b 1807, son of Robert. Also christened in Skeckling with Burstwick. What do you think??

My initial interest in your site was to explore the Elliott connection with my family. I now realise that your Elliotts are East Riding based whilst mine are West Riding but the names are very similar. I think you are correct to concentrate on small villages and people in them as these people tend to be overlooked when history is written, yet they are very often the main contributors. Power to your elbow Jim Corps
