Happy Rhodes fan Guestbook
Hello, my name is Vickie, a Happy Rhodes fan from Chicago. Welcome to my fan guestbook. It serves a few of my fan web sites: happyrhodes.org wretchawry.com (for downloadable song Samples) wretchawry.com (for downloadable Rarities) rhodeshows.com (live shows, unfinished) rhodesongs.com (links & Streaming) are the main ones I maintain (among others), and I have the same Guestbook code on all of them. I can't tell from the Guestbook entries which site you entered the Guestbook from, which is why I ask when you leave a message. Happy is living her life and is very content. She lives on a peaceful farm in upstate New York with her husband, musician Bob Muller. She has a "day job," one that she likes very much (she hand-builds pro-audio equipment for Dangerous Music, and is able to work at home). Though she hasn't made music for many years that will (we all hope) change at some point here. She and Bob have talked about building a home studio which will, we all hope, be used to make more of her beautiful and unique music. If you're a long-time fan, thank you for supporting Happy. If you've just discovered her, you have a lot of good music ahead of you. Enjoy! Please know that as a Happy Rhodes fan of 23 years, your words of admiration and love of Happy's music thrill me and have been known to move me to tears. Happy Rhodes fans are so rare and it's wonderful to read the thoughts you leave. I remind Happy to come here and check the Guestbook entries every now and then, so she will see what you've written. I know that she deeply appreciates your thoughts. Your support and interest in/love of her music means a lot to her, as you see from this: MESSAGE FROM HAPPY! "I wrote and recorded music for many years, thinking I was only pleasing myself. The fact that so many people have appreciated the music, makes my life incredibly rewarding and full. I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of well-wishes and cannot express to you all how undeserving I feel. Nevertheless, I'm more grateful than you know. You've all made me feel accepted in this world and believe me, it's a cherished state of being. Love to you all, Happy" August 9, 2010 A NEW WEBSITE! I just created a new website for Happy Rhodes fans, based on the MySpace page, but better. I liked the look of the MySpace page but not the ads or other junk that's there. I couldn't steal the player so I made my own. There are 3 music players on the page, as well as video and info and many many links. It's a work in progress. http://happyrhodes.org ALL OF HAPPY'S ALBUMS, song by song, are on YouTube as Audio-Only tracks. That channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/happyrhodesalbums. You can search for a specific song, or you can go to a playlist for a particular album. ALL OF HAPPY'S ALBUMS can also be heard free via streaming audio. Go to http://rhodesongs.com/music (These things are done with Happy's full permission and blessings) Happy hasn't released anything since 2007's "Find Me" (it's her 11th and the first since 1998's Many Worlds Are Born Tonight). It's available on CD Baby (both the CD and as mp3s), and on iTunes. I do delete entries here not concerned with Happy's music or if I feel the entry isn't appropriate. Spammers may as well not even try. I keep a close eye on this Guestbook.I'm sorry there's a length limit and that some entries have been cut off. I can't seem to change that. If you write something long, highlight and copy it before you send. If it cuts off, leave another message with the rest of it. Please, if you have something you need me or Happy to get back to you on, leave your email address or send me a reply email when you receive the canned confirmation note (the one that eats apostrophes, sorry about that).BTW, if you leave your e-mail address, it can only be seen by me, not by everybody. Here are a few other links in case you didn't see them where you were. There are more links on the happrhodes.org page. There's both a Happy Rhodes fan GROUP and a Happy Rhodes fan PAGE on Facebook. (Btw, Happy herself does not do Social Networking) There's a News account on Twitter. Needless to say, it's pretty quiet. HAPPY VIDEOS (well, live clips, since she's never made any actual videos) That link above is out of date. There are lots of great links, so I'm not going to delete it, but really, there's SO much more on YouTube now. Just search for Happy and you'll find either xenussister's channel (there are several full-length concerts there now) Happy's MySpace page (which I maintain. Actually, there are 5 I started, but don't pay much attention anymore) NOTE: I no longer accept add requests UNLESS you send a message along with the request that lets me know you really do like Happy. In fact I'm deleting people left and right because I assume they've never heard Happy and don't care. It's a long story, but I don't want Happy to be a number by people who send add requests and don't even stick around long enough to listen to the music. Unfortunately I can't tell those people, from people who have listened and really like, so send a message, ok? Thanks. 5 full-length concerts are on MySpace. there are 3 at the above mentioned MySpace page and 2 more at a satellite page. Just under Happy's picture you'll see "View My..." and click on Videos. You don't have to be a member of MySpace to view them. There are many audio interviews here that I need to transfer over to YouTube. Happy's official site (very very badly neglected. It hasn't been updated since 2007) The Ecto Home Page (this is THE place for lyrics) Thank you again for discovering, listening to, and supporting Happy! Vickie There are currently 436 messages.

I just found this site and it's great. I never heard of Happy till someone I know started ranting about her, and I figured it was just more bull from a random friend. Boy, was I wrong. I've never heard such a voice. I'm having a hard time finding hard CD's which is what I still prefer. I don't understand why her web site is so outdated or why she hasn't produced more recordings in such a long time. Such a musical gift should be shared with all people. I find her voice to be beyond art. I hope she makes more music.

Dear Vickie, Thank you for the opportunity to get to know this absolutely breathtaking singer better. I believe that Happy is one of the best(if not the best) female vocalist in the modern world. Thank you as well for your great job on the site and such touching dedication and commitment. You're just wonderful! :) Warmest wishes - and Happy's new Year! ;). Andy

A few days ago the words in Feed the Fire popped into my head. It had been maybe 16 years ago when I first heard of Happy's songs. I went to one concert in Philadelphia and I had several CDs. I really loved her music. When I contracted Lyme disease I lost interest in many things including her music. I have recovered and am living a more full life. Her songs really never left me but I had lost my CDs. So I bought two albums through iTunes and have discovered this amazing website. The wealth of recordings through the internet of her earliest work is just leaving me in awe. What a rare talent. Example: on the wrechawry.com site I found The Chase. What in the world? It is beyond comprehension. I have a renewed appreciation of her work. I did not get the depth of it when I first became interested. Thank you to the fans that have done this work so others may discover more about her music. It is truly awesome. I hope she is able to keep working and producing her music. I am just 'blown away' speechless, that such a rare talent exists in our time. Thank you.

I used to have the Warpaint album, but it was among items stolen from home. It was one of my favorites. Great to be able to hear it again.

I would like to see more of Happy's music available through iTunes - in my opinion, she is one of the most gifted singer/songwriters in moden time. I would also like to find out if she is playing any venues in America. I would even travel to see her with my friends and family who are also fans of her work. Thanks!

I purchased Many Worlds Are Born Tonight a few days ago I've been staggered by its beauty. I'm not even going to try to say I much I love it, as I know the words don't exist. A few days later and I've purchased all of Happy's work that is available as mp3 downloads from Amazon. Hopefully her other work will appear there soon. Its a real joy to make such a wonderful musical discovery.

I listen to Happy Rhodes' music all year long, but especially at this time of year, the fall, it really strikes a chord. I was glad to see a message from her on your page. Her music is so special and different. Thanks, Happy. I send you my best wishes. And thank you Vickie for keeping up this website.

I am working on a documentary, "Equipoise, The Billion Dollar Cure!" One inquirey led to another and I began reading about Happy. At this very moment I have not heard anything that she has performed. I am going to search further so I can hear her sing/perform. Perhaps I'll be back to update my submission. God Bless, Spencer for peace, love, humanity's health and wellness...
