Follow you for years and love your guitar style and sound. I'm fortunate to watch your son carry on your musical career today as a singer / musician in Austin, Texas

Grew up in Detroit, never saw the Frost play but my buddy did, his older brother took him to the Grande regularly. Saw the Welcome to my Nightmare tour at Wings Stadium in Kzoo "75" and thought that Dick was awesome compared to many leads I saw at Cobo, Masonic or the Knob.

I'm 71 years old now. I have admired Dick Wagner's masterful guitar playing since the 60's Bossmen band days. I remember standing directly in front of his Sunn amp and feeling the power of Dick's guitar. He didn't use guitar effect pedals back then-Just total melodic music pouring from his Les Paul guitar. And,he could sing! He was a Beatles fan, like most of us back then. I recall when he played and sang "Penny Lane" at a Michigan club. I thought what about that trumpet solo? Dick played that solo note for note on his Les Paul-So cool! And, he could write songs in the style of the Beatles too.

I was in a Battle Creek Michigan garage band during the 1960's. My band was lucky enough to play music during the The Frost's breaks at the Cobra club in Hastings, MI. We loved The Frost and even played "Baby Boy". I strived to play Dick's guitar solos note for note back then. When our set ended, Dick and his band walked up on the stage to take over. I remember Dick strummed the across strings of my '62 Rickenbacker guitar and smiled. Dick never said "great job" or anything. But, it felt like an approval of my guitar efforts. As time goes on, I guess we all accumulate a lifetime of memories-The great Dick Wagner will always be in the best of my memories!

Many year’s ago I worked at the Grande Ballroom as well as the Easton Theater as a ticket seller. Consequently I had the opportunity to watch the Frost many times. I always went backstage to watch them perform. I went out and purchased two albums as a result.

Here it is almost 50 years later, and I'm still enjoying listening to those Frost albums. Tremendous songwriting skills, guitar playing and singing. Although I never got to see the band perform live (I lived in West Michigan and rarely made it to the Detroit area), I have followed Dick's career online. Wish I could go back in time.

Much love and respect,

Fred

I saw Dick in Minneapolis with Alice Cooper 1975 after his harrowing flight . I never would have known, until I read his book. I have been playing since '65 but never with the discipline he had! I was lucky to go allergic to coke and saw a few friends get ruined by it. AA for 21 1/2 years saved me. I am certainly glad to have gotten to know him better with "Not Only Women Bleed". Thanks for all you did with Rock and Roll, and I'll meet you in the next world, with the rest of the band.
