Wow - can't believe this place is still there! I visited for two weeks (I think) in 1970 or thereabouts with 53rd Glasgow Scout group. It was an International Jamboree we attended and we met Scouts from Sweden, Germany etc. Great time was had by all and we hated leaving to come home again. I really must get back down to this area, it's a really beautiful part of the country.

Just browsing for directions to site as we are having our Beaver sleepover there in July. However as no map will have to rely on grid ref/sat nav!!
Looking forward to our visit and hopefully will do a risk assessment tomorrow.
Kind regards
Heather :0)

Well only 4 weeks to ago before we once again Visit Watcombe the boys can't wait, such a great site, probably the best scout campsite I have stayed at in in over twenty years of scouting.
But please let this sunshine stay with us.

Visited Augst 2008.Had a great week dispite the weather. The boys said it was the best camp that they had ever been too.

Service crew great and I really enjoyed the campfire.

Only fault we found was the mens toilets were too small and no disposal faclities for waste water or rubbish.Burning of plastics not very environmentally friendly.

It's just a suggestion but would it be possible to form a link with a local bottle gas supplier
we and some others on site had an awful job finding somewhere to get gas.In the end we went to the tourist information office who tracked down a supply at a holiday camp in Paignton

Otherwise greatsite and pleasent staff, would like to visit site in the sunshine
