My gg-grandparents were Hiram Langston & Mary Jane
Phelps married in Pope County Illinois in Feb.
1846.   Mary Jane was the daughter of Burkett
Phelps son of Burgess Phelps.   The Phelps came
from Logan Co, Kentucky I think in the 1830's to Illinois
around Dixon Springs.  It's either in Pope or Johnson
County, Illinois.    Don't know what happed
to Hiram, but Mary Jane stated in a department of defense
statement for a Civil War pension for her grandson Arthur
Green Langston.   At the time of the statement in
June of 1898 she stated she was 72 yrs old and Hiram Green
Langston was her son by her first husband.   Mary
Jane had two brothers that I know of, Thomas J. Phelps, and
Quiller Nevel Phelps, both buried in the Gravel Hill
cemetery in Gravel Hill, Missouri.    I also
believe Mary Jane is buried there under her married name of
Bullock, but many markers are missing..   Thank

Dairl, I love your website! I haven't seen any pictures of
Inez in a long time. It's good to look back and see people
that was in your life as a child. I always loved going over
there when daddy and Gary, well all of us, would go over to
their house so they could play rook with James Harold and
Nez. Heard alot of words I shouldn't have but I guess I
still turned out ok! Ha Ha. It was great to see you and I
can tell by your website that you are one proud dad and
grandpa!!! I think Dale Scott and I look just like the
Renfrows. And oh my gosh! Samantha is all grown up, so
pretty and she looks just like Sam, how is that
possible? Kelbi looks just like Kenny! Thanks again
for such a great job on your website. I loved looking at
