Hi. I joined up with the 76th in January 1954. Moved to 77th due to an accident whilst on leave. Served at Hemswell and then Christmas Island and then Wittering. Purchased my discharge in 1965 to manage Hedgehoppers Anonymous( Good News Week) and then St Cecilia( Leap up and Down)in 1971. Had a very successful 25 yrs as an Agent/Promoter/Publisher, then got involved in Publishing until 2006. Moved to Philippines and planned and built a Beach Resort.'retired in 2010 to a small village miles from civilisation amongst the coconuts and bananas

Just found this site. I'm in sunny Sydney where i's going to reach 30 degrees today.
Can't find the official 76th website which I understand was www.lxxvi.net/index.html
Can anyone help?
I was relegated to the 77th due to lack of application
to my studies and finally finished up at RAF Laarbuch in Germany. Had a great time then was posted to RAF Honington where I bought my discharge for 300 pounds.
Finally finished up in Oz which is the best move I've ever done.

As a member of the 91st entry I was first in 1 wing and in oct1959 moved to 3 wing with the rest of our entry from the other wings, most of whom we had never met unless we sere together as trades. We became senior entry in 3 wing with the 92nd and I think the 93rd. we went to 2 wing in jan 1960 for the next 2 years.i also served in all 3 wings.

Message for Roger Harvey ref. Wing Re-organisation.

I was in the 92nd Entry and during the period
1959 to 1962 found myself in all 3 Wings.

May 1959 ITF and moved into mixed Entry Squadron. Both
in 2 Wing.

October 1959 Wing Re-organisation. All 92nd Entry
moved to 3 Wing.

April ? 1960 All 92nd Entry moved to 1 Wing,
following graduation of 86th Entry.

In answer to the question of Apprentice rank, we
had a Senior Man in each room. The Senior Man was
an Apprentice from our own entry and trade.Depending how he performed, promotion to L.A. was usually the case when we moved to 1 Wing.

I cannot recall whether we had a Passing Out Parade
when we moved from 3 Wing. but as we seemed to have
a Parade for any reason, I wouldn't be surprised if
we did!

Comment to Roger Harvey re Haltonian Issue71 and Wing Reorg.
I'm of the 69th and joined Halton August 1951 as an Armourer. We were situated in 2 Wing with Airframes not as stated 3 Wing. Aiframe and Armouer moved to 3Wing 1952 and stayed together till pass out July 54.
Hope you get this info ok. Could not find any addresses to send it to .
Regards
Laurie Turner
