Hello to all fellow Brats and their families. This Post is to wish all of you "A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A GOOD AND PEACEFULL NEW YEAR 2010". Quite a few of you in the UK I see, are having a big dump of snow,I read the Daily Mail Online and saw the pictures yesterday. Perhaps you'll have a White Christmas. Here in Australia there is a new song doing the rounds - " I'm dreaming of a WET Christmas - etc.". It's terribly dry and drought declared in over 80 % of New South Wales and about the same in the other states. In Luera where I live at about the height of the top of Scafell Pike [3200ft.up] its reasonably comfortable. We do have very hot days in the mid thirties centigrade, today however, [20th. Dec] we have one of out mountain mist days. We're in the clouds,it's only 12 degs. C at 0900 hrs. Well I hope you all enjoy your Christmas dinners etc. Our forecast for the 25 th. is for rain - so we might have a big hot roast dinner yet ! Otherwise it's the BBQ and cold cuts with salads. Plenty of cold drinks to w

I apologise for not being 76th entry. However, I run the social networking web site for old Haltonians at //oldhaltonian.ning.com and wish to extend an invitation to all members of the 76th to come and join your colleagues Roger Harvey and Peter Stewart on the new social network (which is officially sanctioned by the RAFHAAA). All the best, Stuart Morgan (202nd)

Good to see that there are many 76ers still around. they should all be worth a fortune since the advent of IT technology.A doddle for them. I am pretty sure I remember Mike Collier wellIf so it would be great to converse with him again.

Hello to all Brats, Today in Australia is ANZAC day. This is the main rememberance day for both Australia and New Zealand. In all towns and villages there is a dawn service and this is followed by a march through the main streets usually starting at 11.00 hrs. In the main Capital cities of each state the march is huge. In Sydney it starts shortly after 09.00 hrs. and often goes on until after 12.00 hrs. There will also be big ceremonies in Turkey, at Gallipoli and on the Western Front Memorial in Belgium and France. So here I would like to mark my emotions and give my thanks to all servicemen and women who have given their lives for our way of life. Thank You, all you heros - we will remember you. I respectfully ask everyone too remember them as well. Philip M. Hicks (588972)

A message from one of the "other" 76th Entry members at Locking.
Nice to see that you have started your own website. We have a very extensive list of ex-members of the Locking entry, with only about 4 missing. from our ‘address book’..
Our “historian/ chronicler" (Mick Collier) was recently invited by one of your representatives to your most recent reunion and, in consequence, there is talk of a combined reunion sometime in the future. I do hope this idea comes to fruition.
I never knowingly met any of you during my time in the ‘mob’ nor, for that matter, many from my own branch of the 76th. I left the RAF in April 1977, after many happy years, but the redundancy package offered was too tempting, even if I do only receive 21/22 of the full pension! They never did give anything away did they?
Best regards to you all.
Pete Kay.

Edited post from Phil Hicks:
Hello to all 75th. and 76th. Brats Shivering Away in the UK.
David and Roger, you might like to post this e-mail out to all of our fellow brats. This is a joint letter to each Entry Association hoping to cheer you all up during the current winter freeze in the UK. Here in Australia we are enjoying ( ??? ) a heat wave. At 3200 ft. where I live, just 60 miles west of Sydney, we are only getting daily tops of up to about 35 degs C, Adelaide and Melborne have been having tops around 44 degrees.
To those of you who we haven't wished " A Happy New Year 2009 " we hear do so, hoping you will excuse the lateness of the greeting. Please contact us if you wish.
Our Regards,
Phil and Margaret Hicks.
