Hello, thankyou so much for putting together the information about the men killed so tragically in the various mines of North West Leicestershire. It's wonderful that these men are remembered so long after their lives were cut short.

I'm trying to find any information at all about a young man named Albert Greenwood who may have been killed in Snibston Colliery towards the end of the 18th century. Do you have any suggestions for how I can go about this? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

Laura.

My distant relative (Annie Elizabeth Symons Lee) was a teacher at the Thringstone school. She moved from Somerset in the late 1800's. She died in 1947. I'd love to know more about her and if anyone as a picture that would be fantastic. She must have taught in Thringstone for a number of years and I don't think she ever married. She would have been 84 when she died. I'm guessing she probably taught until 1925 or there about

I've found the pages on the Charnwood Forest Railway and canal fascinating, especially as I live about 100 yards away from where the railway used to pass.

I walked the route today, from Derby Rd's The Station pub, up to just past the viaduct, and will walk the rest to Coalville another time. Apart from turning a blind eye to some private property signs, the walk was quite easy and pleasant, with many secret bridges, that very few people are actually aware of. I took a photo of many of them. I would love to see more photos of the railway if possible. Thanks
