Just found this site and it was fun to see names from school.
I have fond memories of the rotations and friends I made while in school.
I fell in love with the adjacent research lab as a student and told Dr Hydinger I wanted to work there when I graduated. He told me to come back and we would discuss it. The day I received my results I called him. That was my first job. I worked on islet cell transplants and now the U of MN is doing these in humans. This remains a passion because my first grandchild was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when he was 2.
