Listening to Willie King this morning in south east of France. A thought to Willie King, his family and the Liberators.
Keep on the fight for a new world.

I met Mr.King a few years back at the Richmond Folk.Festival in Richmond,Va (I think it was 2006) I interviewed him for a magazine I was working with, and found him to be a very kind man. I had checked out the album "Freedom Creek" months earlier and was already a fan. We exchanged information in hopes that he would return to the DMV for some gigs,as I recall he was eager to tour and get his music heard to the masses. R.I.P Willie,it was nice meeting you.

Every time I don't know just exactly what to do or when or where to do it, I plug in a little Willie King Jukin' at Bettie's. Still the right thing at the right time and sets my mind to ramblin' like them wild geese out in the west.
Thanks Willie. You were the best and we still miss you!

Aliceville has been added to my bucket list! Willie's music rates as some of the best blues ever recorded. A true master. I am collecting ALL of it! God bless you all!

I always had such a great time playing sax with Willie Kind, down at 5 Points or City Stages, down at the first festival on his farm. Last time I saw Willie was at the Chicken and Egg Festival in Moulton, AL a few years ago. Will always remember Willie and the good blues times. RIP Willie. Smokehouse

Glad that people can still hear his music after time has passed by. Mr. King could play his music well. R.I.P. Hope Mr. King is playing for the Angels.
