DEAR DOCTOR: Thank you for the informative article on pet food. Since being a pet owner for 40 years, I've noticed more cases of pet cancer (chemical additives in pet food & in flea meds)! My female dog, Ladyann died from cancer. I had been buying one of the brands that were recalled.
Also, gave her CONFORTIS to rid fleas. Her last x-ray showed an enlarged liver (size of football)
she weighed 40 lbs. Confortis sent her over the edge, "toxic liver injury"!! And We are the intelligent ones!??? And we still buy fillers known as dry dog food! I am preparing food for my dogs and myself, being that I am on a strict budget, I eat it as well. Skinless chicken boiled,plus fresh vegetables sauted in garlic, brown rice or whole wheat noodles. Needed to know the supplements to add,and your article was immmensely helpful, kudos and thank you very much. eve, "Louie Armstrong and The Prince of Judah".
