Are you a relative of a 117th soldier?:  Yes - James Rushbrook was my nan's Brother
Do you have any 117th Bn memorabilia?:  No
Comments:

James was born on the 12th May 1892 in Barking, Essex England, he had a twin sister. My Nan was his oldest sister.
It is now coming up to 100 years that James died 17th April 1917, his headstone states he died on the 16th which is wrong, I have also discovered that his current location, as only been from 1919 and, I will be visiting his first location.
James left England approx. 1912 - would love to known more about his life between this and when he signed up with 117th battalion on the 8th Feb 1916.

Hello, my connection is thru #748318 Wallace Samuel McCollough's mother, she is my grgr grand aunt. I am very proud of so many of my family who served Canada during the 1st & 2nd WWar, some came back some did not. I haven't been able to find much on Wallace, i have a picture of his headstone from his mother. I checked your photographs but did not find anything, I will keep looking and if I find something I will let you know. Thank you and your wife for the time and consideration you put into this passion. Eliz'th

Are you a relative of a 117th soldier?:  Yes. Great Nephew of Barney Boyland 748170
Do you have any 117th Bn memorabilia?:  No
Comments:

I'm interested in my Great Uncle Barney Boyland life. He migrated to Canada at 11 years old according to his papers he was a farmer and then joined the 117th Eastern township Battalion and served in France in WW1 on the frontline.

Someone has put info about him on this site with a photo of him so I would love to know a little more about him and his life especially after WW1 'ie' did he stay in Canada? Did he go back to Liverpool? have a family? or join the army again?

If any one has any more info please let me know.
Thank you

Just thought I would look up the site since 749256 Ernest Finan of D Coy was my Great Uncle. According to my Father, he was at some point gassed & this caused his early death after the war.
